It's not too often I get to do something I love for people I love. When I was asked to photograph Matthew and Tarryn's wedding, I was beyond excited. I knew this wedding would be something special, not only for them, but for me as well. Matthew is my youngest cousin on my father's side of the family. He is fun-hearted and good-natured and one of the best people. So naturally he met a wonderful girl, Tarryn. She is sweet, she loves the earth, she loves to laugh and she loves Matthew. This wedding has been a long time coming! I flew up to Missouri for their wedding weekend and had so much fun getting to visit the family and enjoy the festivities.
They were married at Powell Gardens on a warm summer evening in a vineyard. The gardens were beautiful. They had orchards and little box gardens with every sort of fruit, vegetable and flower you could imagine. Tarryn wore her grandmother's dress and she was stunning! She asked to do a first look with Matthew before the ceremony and it was such a special moment. As soon as they saw each other, they kept telling each other how excited they were and how they couldn't wait to marry each other. Their vows were so pure and emotional and all I can say is that a love like theirs is a joy to be around. It's tangible. What a great way to spend a weekend.
